There's also two payphones in front of the little store right beside the hotel, which you should use instead of the ones in the room, as one of the guys working at the hotel told me it was expensive. I used a calling card from those ones (and there aren't many other pay hones nearby). The little store has almost everything you would need, fresh fruit, vegetables, microwave meals, snacks, electronics, alcohol, whatever. Theres also a laundromat beside the hotel, and mexican place to eat in front, and many little delis about a 5 minute walk away. Oh yes, and there was a good sized bar about a 1 minute walk right from the hotel which seemed very popular. There are a few people sitting outside the grocery store at almost any time of day for some reason, but they're just hanging out. Had no problems with hobos or anything near our hostel, but in other parts of town there are many.
