I attended the Johnny Winter concert at The Knitting Factory in August, '09. The air conditioning was set so extreme that everyone around was shivering, including men! I asked several of the staff about it and they all said there was nothing they could do - translate: they didn't give a #%&*. The music was ridiculously loud - I saw several people wearing ear plugs. I'm sorry - but what's the point in going to a concert if you have to wear earplugs? The restrooms were shockingly filthy. The smell of urine sturck me from as far away as the hallway leading to restrooms. The walls are covered with grafitti and filth. I was afraid to touch anything. Other women in the restroom were complaining about how dirty it was. I couldn't wait to leave the concert. In fact, we left before it was over. I will never pay for a concert in this venue again! What a dive!
