Review content:
I was on the prowl for a unique taste of seafood. Unfortunately, having grown up in Montana & being a recent Seattle import this subject felt out of my grasp. Luckily after reading some reviews & having it recommended to be by numerous people I decided to try The Flying Fish. It was an adventure of "firsts". A friend and I started at the bar for the Oyster Happy Hour. Which I thought was marvelous. 25cent Oysters on the half shell. What a great deal! It was my first time tasting an oyster so needless to say I was a little nervous. After our oysters came out a very nice server named Claire showed me all the ways to consume an oyster. She recommended different garnishes & types of oysters. It was amazing for somebody to take a moment of their day to help me out. She made me feel very welcome. After sampling our oysters we were seated at a very comfy table. Where we were treated like VIP's. Our server Eric was incredibly friendly & accommodating. He recommended a variety of options & I was truly impressed with his knowledge of the menu. We ended up deciding on the Whole Fried Rockfish. This was SPECTACTULAR! So fun to eat?a sort of ?hands on? experience. It was served with this amazing anchovy dipping sauce & fresh herbs which you roll up into rice papers. We thought for sure that there was no toping that. Oh, how wrong we were. Next we tried the Calamari & the Ahi Tuna. Both were fantastic. The calamari was served with this delectable honey jalape?o sauce which complimented it perfectly. It was by far the best calamari we had ever had. During the meal our server was very attentive to our drinks & making sure we were happy. After finishing everything on the table we were full to the brim. Despite that we decided to tackle the Warm Grappa Brownie. It was exquisite. All in all I would say it was probably the best dining experience I have ever had. Consider me a regular....I can?t wait to try everything they have to offer.
Pros: Great service, music, and art!
Cons: none!
