If you've been to Solvang, you'll know it's one big tourist trap filled loads and loads of gift shops and Danish-themed souvenirs.
I love going to the hardware store. Like any old fashioned hardware store, you'll find an amazing variety of goods in here. It appeals to the person who needs screws or a hammer or hose. It appeals to the homeowner looking to buy plants. And it appeals to tourists like me who always like checking out a non-chain store to see what's new and different.
One year I picked up cool Halloween decorations including unique candle-powered lanterns and more. It's just really fun to go in knowing hardly any tourists venture in. They can by up all of the tchotches; I'll take a good 'ole fashioned hardware store over that any day of the week.
