Businiess name:  Clear Internet Saint Louis
Review by:  Nick K.
Review content:
Good: So at first Clear internet was fanstastic. I had a wireless internet provider that I could pull 12-15 mbps down off the net. This made it a wonderful choice for my family as we don't watch regular TV but do enjoy streaming Netflix. When we purchased the service we were told that Clear was awesome for Netflix streaming and that we'd be hard-pressed to find a better internet provider.. Bad: Suddenly as of late our download speeds have plummeted. I went from 12 mbps down to .3! I figured something was wrong with my modem so I called help support. After an entire hour of turning stuff on and off and changing settings, they finally informed me that I was being SPEED CAPPED due to EXCESSIVE BANDWIDTH USAGE. Suddenly it appears I have watched too much Netflix and am being punished for it. Now I barely have enough bandwidth to load a webpage, much less watch a movie.. Improvements: Clear has touted time and time again how great their service is for streaming media. Now we find out that there is a limit to the amount of media we can stream? Never before have I had a service cut me off for using 'too much internets' and I have to say it is really disappointing. The USA is already severely lagging in the realm of internet connectivity when compared to other countries and this is yet another thorn in it's side.. Other: If all you're looking for is mobile internet for your laptop to check email, stream the occasional youtube video, etc. then this is a good (albeit overpriced) solution. If you are planning on using any substantial amount of bandwidth (do you watch tv online? Do you purchase games online occasionally?) then keep in mind you will be playing Russian Roulette with their automated speed cap system that will crush your download and leave them saying there is nothing they can do..
