Review content:
Ujima is a very small theatre whose productions primarlily reflect the lives of African-Americans. It's located right on the Elmwood Strip in a small theatre setting. The theatre works to develop talent and is dedicated to the community as well, with workshops and theatre experience for youth in the local area. It is also the only professional theatre company in WNY that is dedicated to the development and presentation of work by persons of color.
The shows are very well done and the actors, actresses, and staff have such a passion for their work. This is definitely reflected in the productions. The community that goes are all there to support the theatre company and there's a welcoming feeling of familiarity and family, even if you haven't been before.
