The facility is very central to Tahoe City—close walking distance to most of the restaurants and shopping.The front desk was helpful, courteous & friendly at check in and checkout. On-site parking was never a problem (even though the property was full). Our room was on the 5th floor and was clean and comfortable. We noted it to be a rather standard motel type room, with the extra touch of a larger than usual refrigerator, a small microwave, and the coffee set-up include beans that you grind yourself. The décor and furniture was in very good condition and there was updated flooring in the bath. There is no a/c, but we did not need it (but a portable fan is provided in the room). During our stay, we had a nice breeze through the room by opening the window in front and in the bathroom. We had no problems with noise, from either the street or other rooms. The included continental breakfast was good, but not great. Standard continental items: yogurt, cereals, sweet rolls, mini muffins, bagels (w/ toaster), toast, etc. There were also waffles that could be heated in the microwave, but we did not try them. Fresh fruit was not provided but would have been a welcome addition. The breakfast room was clean and well maintained, and service staff was constantly on duty cleaning tables and keeping everything properly stocked. We did not use the pool, but noted it is in a poor location—right next to the busy street—noisy and no privacy to relax. Seems like it is best suited only for a quick cooling dip on a hot day. However, we did note that it was sparkling clean. Overall, above average motel with all the necessities at a reasonable price.
