My spouse and I decided we HAD to stay here after dining at the hotel restaurant, Circa 59, last year. The property had recently undergone a multimillion dollar renovation and it is amazing. We had a family engagement in the Palm Desert and didn't even give another hotel a single thought. There are at least three different lounges/bars and each of them is beautiful. Both nights we were there (Saturday and Sunday), there was live music. The crowd on Saturday seemed much younger and wilder than the crowd on Sunday night but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. The food at Circa 59 is incredible. Everything is local, natural, sustainable and seasonal. There is a very nice fixed price menu; however, we chose to order multiple items off of the menu and split them. Our wait staff was very accommodating and we were not charged a fee for splitting our entree, or any other item we ordered. The service was impeccable. Although it was Sunday night and we were only one of a few diners there, our waiter was fantastic. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu, the specials, the wine list and the area. A nice perk was that on Sunday night, every wine on the wine list was 50% off -- what a GREAT way to try something you normally would not order because of price, etc. This is a romantic spot as well as a good place for foodies. Our room was gorgeous. We splurged and stayed in a junior suite. The room was spacious and the decor was very modern. The bathroom was beautiful and had an extra large tub which we took advantage of on our second night there. The beds were extremely comfy and full of fluffy goodness and comfort. In fact, it was more comfortable than our bed at home! We ordered room service on Sunday morning and it arrived at breakneck speed. The food was hot and presented well; however, it was not as good as the meal we had eaten in the restaurant or any of the appetizers we had eaten in the lounges. It was good, it just was not outstanding. Nonetheless, this hotel has become a favorite...
