I had seven tattoos done before and wanted a new one. I checked out Windy City and they were overpriced and treated me like they were doing me a favor (newsflash I am the customer, its my cash). I checked out Tatu and they were dismissive. I stood in the doorway for 5 minutes before someone came from the upstairs to ask what I needed. I went to Infamous and the guy figured I must have never been tattooed and told me it it would hurt and the tat, I wanted would be $200. So I drove down Milwaukee and saw Insight, I pulled over, walked in and was greeted by Bob the owner. Keep in mind that most tattoo artist act as if they are too cool and too manly to speak, no different at Insight. But Bob, the owner was friendly and even offered me some cake (apparently it was his Birthday). I explained what I wanted and he said I could wait or he could call me when one of the artist was done. So he took my cell number and called me about two hours later and had reserved a spot for me. I went back, got the tat I wanted. Had a great artist named Tom who was just as friendly as Bob. (although my first impressions were wrong) I was given a reasonable price. I have been back a few more times and each time they either scheduled my appointment or I waited. And each new tat was reasonably priced. Also, a key factor in why I return is that they provide aftercare lotion, which is good in promoting healing. I highly recommend this place, especially because they provide privacy, aftercare lotion, and cleanliness. Also it is a pretty friendly environment after you have been there. (most tattoo shops I have been to cater to females or guys with tattoos showing on their necks, again, no different at Insight, but I still recommend this place because of Bob, the prices, cleanliness, and aftercare. my two cents.
Pros: Clean, safe, private, reasonable prices, customer service
Cons: some of the artist are too cool
