KSM Guitars is a good local guitar store and it’s one of the only places in town to get this sort of stuff. They are very relaxed about letting you try out their instruments. My family has gotten guitars and amplifiers through KSM and they have been pleased with their purchases. One drawback about KSM is that their variety of guitars is not great. They used to have Ibanez guitars plus other guitar types, but now they have mostly Taylor guitars. They’ll change your guitar strings for free if you purchase a guitar there and they change them fast. My friend had a negative experience there once: A staff member insisted on a certain type of strings even though she wanted another type, and she ended up strongly disliking their choice of strings, plus they played her guitar for a long time while she waited. KSM often hosts bands and music at the local gardner’s market, which I really like.
