I visited an open house that was publicly advertised and operated by Helen Hagood at Coldwell Banker. This home was located in Travelers Rest, SC and was considered a home that fell into the “fine living” category according to the agent herself. Upon arriving, we were stopped at the door. We were asked if he were from Furman University. We informed her no. She then told us “I am sorry, but the owner is very specific on who can come into his home”. Before she asked our names, what we were interested in, or even said hello, her immediate reply was you cannot come into this home. She discriminated against us which was a direct insult to me and my wife who are more than qualified to
purchase this home.
I am an investor and I am always looking for properties that I can flip in all price ranges. The price that this home is selling for is what I paid for my home and like I stated before, we are more than qualified to purchase this home, not to mention visit the open house that was publicly advertised. This was a direct insult based on my wife and myself and our age and our appearance. I will never use this agent or work with this agent for anything and I advise you do the same.
