I had to have my almost 16 year old cat euthanized this morning. He had cancer and was not responding to chemo. Dr. Melcon was there for us and gave me so much comfort in her blunt, kind way ... she seemed to know exactly what to say to me. She loves animals (she has an entire menagerie herself), and has a tremendous amount of experience treating them. She's the best. (Oh, and by the way, Harley (the cat) had diarrhea all over me in the waiting room (poor little guy), and the staff immediately and graciously not only helped me clean him up, but also gave me some scrub pants to change into so I didn't have to sit there in fouled attire. Totally helpful.)
