Live entertainment by the "Trivia" Guinness World Record holder. How they landed such professional talent is beyond me. He, like myself, must love the down home, laid back atmosphere. ------- Reservations accepted, but not required, but probably a pretty good idea as folks from neighboring counties and states, for that matter, come out especially for the low-key trivia fun. ------- The food is great, too! Place is well-known for its peppercorn steaks. They're thick and delicious! Menu also includes a lot of noodle dishes, sandwiches, seafood, and salads. There's no pizza, no hot dogs, no nachos. ------- Food pricing is reasonable, mostly anywhere from $5.95 - $16.95. They do a booming "to-go" business from the main hospital across the street. They're open for lunch, too, with daily specials. ------- Has a side room specifically for the nonsmokers. Has a small bar counter which houses the local every-dayers and the bartender's group. I wish the bar had a larger seating area. ------- Clientele is pretty diverse. You'd feel safe in this place. The waitresses are really keen on everything that's going on, and make interesting conversation. ------- Though the restaurant is family-friendly, meaning many folks bring their kids in with them to eat, but I'm not sure they have a kids' menu. ------- But for a cold beer in a safe, relaxed atmosphere, and some good food, fun, and fellowship, you'll feel right at home at Basil's! See you there!
