I drive an hour each way to get there. They are the only ones I trust with my particular circumstances. I have children I need to keep safe. I also take private classes myself - I have a serious medical condition. The owner (who is the head instructor) went out of his way to help us, and still amazes me with his concern for our safety and his dedication to teaching us as effectively as possible. Davide is one of the rare instructors with a Black Belt in Krav Maga. He and his staff are very kind, caring, and attentive. They specialize in Krav Maga, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and classes for Law Enforcement officers. The facility is huge (15,000 sq ft), clean, and comfortable. I'm going to kick myself if I forgot anything... I was intimidated at first because it looks like a place for serious people, and it is. But he made the kids feel safe and was sensitive to what they've been through and what it takes to protect them now. (He's a father himself.) After a few classes, the kids were demonstrating on some family members. They threw Grandma across the room. That's not enough to stand up to a 6', 200lb. predator but for children who were once as fearful as they were, it's an incredible start. As for my lessons, I was worried b/c of my physical limitations. Krav Maga is an adaptive fighting style, so he has used my inabilities to discover what I can actually do with what is left of my body. He makes certain techniques work for me, and figures out what I can do that others can't - big surprise for me. I've learned a tremendous amount and have developed physically in unique ways despite my condition. There's no giving up - just finding smarter ways around obstacles. He's fast, sharp, very intelligent, a decent human being, and I don't trust anyone else. I have too much at stake. I highly recommend Davide's Yorktown Total Fitness and I recommend Mr. Davide Gristina, my instructor and my children's instructor, above anyone else.
