Review content:
I bought a Simmons king size mattress and box spring in the first week of Oct.2010. Didn't mind spending over $1500 to get what I wanted, unfortunately, my husband can't sleep on the mattress because he finds it extremely uncomfortable. Mattress Gallery Direct, in TN will not do any exchanges and doesn't care if the customer is happy or not. Had to spend nearly $100 for a 2.5 inch twin "memory foam" topper for his side of the bed and he still can’t get a full night’s sleep. There are so many other places that have better customer service. I won't buy anything else from Mattress Gallery Direct. They tried to tell us their policy was a TN State law, but that is a misconstruction of the 2007 law that says a used mattress cannot be re-sold, not that they can't do an exchange. I would think that if they have a good relationship with Simmons, they wouldnâÂ?Â?t have a problem with comfort exchanges. SamâÂ?Â?s Club has no problem giving mattress exchanges. STOP, before going to Mattress Gallery Direct, find another and ask what their exchange policy is. Other vendors will give a 90 day comfort exchange, Mattress Gallery Direct will not. My husband has his first chiropractic appointment tomorrow. 10/13/2010: Mike Duncan, owner of Mattress Gallery Direct called to tell me the law prohibits him from selling used mattresses, and that's why he cannot make a comfort exchange. I've read the law: SB 0280 from 2007 and I see that one cannot sell a used mattress. I'm not asking him to sell me a used mattress. It's his business with Simmons what he does with a mattress that gets exchanged for a more comfortable one. The law doesn't prohibit a comfort exchange at all, but only Senator Haynes and Assemblyman Moore will know for sure. Just don't vote for them on any ballot if this is how they look after consumers. Chances are, they'll say they're "protecting" the consumers, but their bill does more harm than good to the consumers. My issue is Duncan is not a good businessman if he doesn't care about customer satisfaction. As the owner, he can do what ever he wants to satisfy the customer. Other mattress shops do. This guy just doesn't care. The best part is, one of the other vendors said that if you leave your mattress in the plastic, they'll gladly take it back. Mattress Gallery Direct included one of their high-tech mattress covers that they demonstrate will not allow any fluids to get through with my purchase, so, for all intents and purposes, it is still in plastic!!!
