Businiess name:  Fountainhead Regional Park
Review by:  Sandra D.
Review content:
Fountainhead Regional Park, located at the widest point of the Occoquan Reservoir, provides a peaceful fishing spot for anglers in search of a variety of fish. Fish from land on Fountainhead's 100-foot (wheelchair accessible) pier or from the 40-foot floating dock. Enjoy fishing and/or boating in a 2, 3 and 4-man jon boat with electric motor available for rent or launch your own boat (10-horsepower limit). Fountainhead has access to the Occoquan Reservoir, Hooes Run and Sandy Run which allows anglers to spread out and find their own quiet fishing spots. Largemouth bass fishing peaks in the spring and fall and Fountainhead hosts a series of tournaments. (The park is closed in winter.) The Virginia state record-holding flathead catfish, weighing in at more than 66 pounds, was caught and released at Fountainhead. Fishing licenses are required. Overnight fishing, jet skis and swimming are prohibited. The park closes at sunset.
