Review content:
Good: I have shopped at this store a dozen or so times in the last few years. Up until recently they had DELICIOUS fruit. We arrived in early Feb and had some of the most delicious Ruby Red grapefruit I've ever eaten! Last week, we purchased 1/2 bushel of Red grapefruit again- got home, they were actually pink, but they tasted fine so I had no real complaint.. Bad: Earlier this week,we purchased another 1/2 bushel of Red; they were awful - completely inedible. My husband went to take them back to get replacements and found out that not only do they not do refunds (we didn't care - we just wanted good fruit), they wouldn't replace the nearly complete 1/2 bushel -- then the woman insinuated that he'd brought in someone else's rotten fruit for exchange! I see on-line that their internet customers get satisfaction guaranteed but evidently not us locals.. Improvements: What irritated me most about this is that I was with my husband earlier in the week when we purchased the fruit, had a conversation with two of the clerks about seasons for oranges vs. grapefruit. The woman who insinuated that my husband was a cheat today may not have been one of the two ladies we talked to -- I understand. What I don't understand -- there was no working with this woman - she didn't ask to see our receipt or anything and she just made all kinds of implications about my husband's character.. Other: It could have been that a bag of inedible fruit got put out in error just like pink grapefruit was in a bag labeled Red. I used to work in retail; you just don't treat customers that way. Not if you want to stay in business. Maybe they get enough out of state orders that they don't need locals. I don't know, but I will never shop there again. It really is a shame..
