Review content:
Carlyle serves a fabulous weekend brunch, plus great dinners, and the servers are very attentive (if your water glass is empty or dishes need to be cleared, someone - not necessarily your waiter - will quickly take care of it.) They're so quick in fact I once saw 5 different servers in the course of my meal, not because my waiter was at all slow, but simply because others were nearby and paying attention. They don't take reservations and can get busy on the weekends, but here are some tips: call ahead for seating for a shorter wait when you arrive, try to sit upstairs (the bottom floor next to the bar can get loud, plus the top floor is more dimly lit for better ambiance). Oh, and if you don't see it on the menu, ask about the crab fritters/potsticker "combo" appetizer - both are too good to choose just one, so go for both!
