Review content:
My son had THE worst haircut at Shear Ego today. First we were kept waiting for his appointment for 20 minutes. When I made the appointment I asked if the girl could cut Asian hair, and was told yes. I showed her a picture of what we wanted (my son with the haircut he had gotten in Korea). I had the cut from multiple angles and asked if she could do it. She said yes. I pointed out the parts of his hair we had let grow out so that she could style it correctly. The first thing she did was cut this hair right off! I watched as she cut and as she would finish a section I would point out how it differed from the picture - it was awful! The sides were uneven and cut differently. She had no idea how to recreate the style we asked for. As I tried to explain again she got defensive and rude. A manager was brought over. He tried to salvage the cut and was able to improve it, but in the end my son ended up with a bowl cut gone wrong kind of look instead of a trendy Asian cut. THEN the manager tried to say it was my fault...I should have left her alone with my son, that my watching made her nervous so she did a poor job?! Seriously? He planned to charge full price, but after I politely explained how many different ways this had gone wrong he took of only $10, and when I checked out they asked for a tip! I did not leave one. For such a "fine" salon I expected better. I was told that the girl who charges $75 a cut could do a better job. I think any of their stylists should be able to do the cut, and if not, I should have been told so before she touched my son's head. We have a repair appointment with Scott Miller in three weeks.
