I just went to the new College Park location (they said it's been there since Sept. 2009) and was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the whole experience was. I called last minute to get an annual checkup and vaccinations and they were able to get me in right then. They take both walk-ins and appointments, I really like that because there are times when I want each. Everyone was incredibly polite and professional. The office is clean and a lot nicer than most other vets I've visited. They said it used to be a chiropractic practice prior to becoming a vet's office- maybe that's why it's a bit nicer. The doctor we saw (Dr. Daniel Cleland) was the most refreshing part of the experience. We've gotten used to very non-compassionate vets who don't explain anything and go through the motions while we sit there feeling lost and not in charge. But Dr. Cleland was very friendly, honest and accommodating and not at all intimidating or condescending. He and the nurse who drew my dogs' blood were efficient but still very kind to my girls. They answered questions and treated me as an equal. He explained that opinions are changing regarding vaccinations (aka, too many vets are over-vaccinating) and they are moving towards less-frequent shots that last longer. So next year, instead of getting all of their shots again, they'll only need a couple boosters. And they do the 3-year rabies shot which I like. We have tried so many vets in Atlanta for the past few years and kept going to new places because we never found a place we really had a desire to return to. I am definitely going to be going back here and am so glad with how comfortable I felt with everything. Also, when I asked if they're open Saturdays, they told me that not only are they open for the full day on Saturday, but they're even open part of the day on Sunday. So I don't need to take time off from work to bring my dogs in, plus this office is so close to where I live downtown rather than out in Buckhead or Morningside or Decatur.
