Review content:
Our experience - my husband and I - have always had positive experiences there. It is a place where I know Dr. Knowles will do WHATEVER it takes to save an animal - if the animals' owners okay an expense, Dr. Knowles will explore all options available to a family to treat an ailing animal.
Back in 2006, our dog Max had a bad reaction to flea medicine that also started a domino effect to have failing health. The first thing Dr. Knowles did was meet us in the middle of the night to treat our dog. He used all his expertise to care for our beloved "son" and kept watch over him all night. He hooked him up to IVs, gave him appropriate medicine, and allowed us follow-up visits for free. I can tell you that not just any vet would go to all those lengths. About a year later, when our dog experienced total organ failure, and there was nothing more we could do, Dr. Knowles lovingly sent us a sympathy card when our dog expired.
We do not live in the Banner Elk area anymore, but I can tell you that every vet we have ever seen since Dr. Knowles pales in comparison to how much he cares for animals - and that's saying something considering we have a large dog and four cats. He also became a family friend after all of our experiences with our own animals. I can assure you that if we lived in the area, we would bring ALL our animals to his clinic. Furthermore, we now live in Madison County and have invited Dr. Knowles to try to start a practice in Madison County.
