I needed service when my 2002 PT Cruiser stopped shifting into reverse. It's a manual transmission. My regular service people at one of the local Firestone stores said that transmissions and shift mechanisms were not in their bag of tricks. I decided to take the PT Cruiser to a Chrysler dealer some distance away, who had good reviews for service. Well, the dealership where I went diagnosed the problem but didn't have the part. They wanted me to leave the car and pay for the new shift cables up front. I didn't have a way home from Franklin and can't easily afford a rental car, so I decided to take it to to a different dealership. I had to pay $80 for the "priviledge" of waiting three hours for the diagnosis, even though I was one of the earliest people in the morning. When I got to Southeast's service department, the "old" Hansen, they had the parts and did the work in less than half a day. The total cost was $50 less than what the first dealer's service department quoted, too. Southeast/Hansen also provides a free taxi ride to work, so I didn't have to sit around and wait. Note: although Southeast Chrysler recently purchased Hansen, I was told that the same service folks will be at the same Charlotte Ave. Location. Special kudos to Pete Stobbs, who's been in the service department for years and years. He is always courteous and efficient
