We recently went to Dr.Blazek for an ADD/ADHD assessment for our daughter. In the past, we have had very positive experiences at Pedatrics P.C. and with Dr. Blazek, so it seemed natural for us to go there first. We were told that they could assess her right there at Pediatrics P.C. After getting vision and hearing records, a handwritten letter from her teacher explaining her behaviour, and a 3 week wait to see Dr.Blazek, my daughter was seen for about 10-15 min. He asked her a few questions (for example, do you like to read? what books do you like?) and checked her reflexes. Then he said that he recommended we go to a clinic in Grand Rapids that could properly diagnose her (a process that would take another couple of months, plus a $500-$600 fee that our insurance wouldn't cover). He never asked to speak to me about her in private and I had to practically beg him to spend five minutes alone with me so I wouldn't have to talk about my daughter in front of her. He didn't have much to say to me after I was done other than that he wasn't one of those doctors that just handed out medication. I wish he would have saved us a month and told us over the phone that he recommended we go somewhere else to assess her. It was a pretty awful and frustrating experience. The saddest part is that our daughter is the one that will be the most negatively affected by Dr.Blazek's actions.
