Review content:
Being from the Gulf Coast, I was especially excited when Chappy's moved in near downtown Nashville. A restaurant that boasted fresh seafood, and Cajun style at that? I'm in!
I have only been to Chappy's a handful of times since it opened, I'm ashamed to say. I've had great experiences each time. The seafood is super fresh--and yes, I can tell--after all, I grew up dining on seafood that had been swimming earlier in the day.
When you go, get reservations--and expect to be there at least 2 hours, maybe 3. Chappy's is a whole dining experience, not a place to eat and run. They give ample time between courses to catch up with your table mates, and enjoy the evening. They have two larger rooms that are great for groups--call at least several days ahead to reserve one! There is a bar, but this is a place to eat dinner--at a table. It's also a little on the pricier side, but you should expect that for fresh seafood! Totally worth it. And, if you are lucky, Chappy himself has been known to visit tables to check on food and service. Both are fabulous, in my book!
