My boyfriend and I decided to try the new restaurant on restaurant row... Darioush. It seems they opened their doors earlier this week. I have to say it was a stellar experience. From the setting, to the service and most importantly... the food! First, we shared the Aubergine with a glass of Viognier from the Darioush winery. Perfect combination. All of the wines seem to have been carefully selected to compliment the food. I had the Lamb and my boyfriend ordered the Duck. We were not disappointed. The Lamb confit damn near melted in my mouth and the flavors were like nothing I've ever tried before. Outstanding. My boyfriend was impressed with the Duck as well. For dessert we shared a baklava... again exceptional... not your average baklava. It was served with Persian sorbet and a saffron pistachio ice cream… amazing. You just have to try it. We were offered two complimentary glasses of Champagne as a welcoming thank you and Chef Darioush came out to ask us how we were enjoying everything. The place has a down to earth comfortable feel to it, while still being very classy. It was a little quiet for a Friday night but it's their first month and if they keep up the good work I'm sure they'll be packed in no time. Thanks Darioush! We had a lovely evening and we'll definitely be back. Pros: Food is amazing, excellent wine list, cozy setting
