Review content:
The food at the Lakehouse Cafe never fails to rank with the best anywhere in Austin. On a recent visit, we were pleasantly surprised by renovations and really good live music - which only added to the great views out over the lake and the warm service we have come to expect.
I tried the chef's special of the day, beef prepared with 'avodavo sauce', and it was really tasty - the best! The desserts were all to die for - I had a seasonal fig creation which was truly wonderful.
Pros: Great food with a view
Cons: Its a (worthwhile) drive out from town, only open weekends
