Okay, I'll admit that I don't normally like rowdy bar type places, and prefer clubs/lounges, but this is a new place,so I thought I'd give it a try. WHAT A MISTAKE!
THE PLACE: We went there last Saturday night and it SUCKED. It's located at the very front of the Monte Carlo. There's a restaurant (didn't eat there, so can't say anything about the food) downstairs, and the bar is upstairs. Cover was $5. When we went, the bar?s roof was opened up so it was VERY COLD.There were heaters, but the wind was blowing like crazy so it didn't matter.
THE MUSIC: We got there right when a band finished its set, and afterward the DJ put on hip-hop. The problem with the music was that you couldn't hear it over the obnoxious fat guy on stage dressed in a lucha libre (Mexican wrestler) costume. He was on a microphone yelling over the music the whole time, attempting to get the crowd pumped up, but it was just ANNOYING! Oh, and I can't forget about the 6 person beer bong he pulled out- he picked people from the crowd and he and the go-go dancers poured beer down this funnel. This gives you an idea of the type of place this is.
THE BAR: Now, all this might have been funnier (or even more fun) if I would've been a little tipsier from the drinks. This leads me to the WORST part about this place. It takes about 20 min. to order a drink from the MOST OBNOXIOUS and ARROGANT bartenders I have EVER encountered. ANYWHERE (and I?ve dealt with some retarded bartenders-I live in LA). Instead of pouring drinks, ALL they do is lip sync the bad music (when you can hear it), dance and point to people, like they were on stage themselves (think guys from A Night at the Roxbury). I was genuinely embarrassed for them. After putting up with these tools, you would think MAYBE you could get a decent drink. Of course not! They were weak, tiny and mostly ice.
THE GIST: If you don?t want to be treated like cr@p and you want to dance, DO NOT go to Diablo?s!!
Pros: Right on The Strip
Cons: Bad drinks, bad bartenders, bad music
