Short and sweet- they are truly world class doctors here. The kindest, most professional people at all levels- admin to doctor to nurse, etc. And no one wants to write a review for a children's hospital. No one wants to even see the inside of one, but things happen unfortunately. We had two of our kids there and each time we were blown away. The efficiency is excellent. They handle emergencies so well and the facilities are state of the art, little details not overlooked. They had a playroom staffed with volunteers for kids to spend some time in when visiting a sibling. Trust me this came in handy for the hours we spent with our youngest and our daughter was going bananas. The nurse even offered to walk her down to the play center so I did not have to leave my other child's side. How above and beyond is that? It's a breastfeeding friendly hospital, too. All food items on the in room menu are free for moms who are breastfeeding. Little things that go a long way count. Not once do they make you feel like a number and this is quite a feat. When we left they gave our youngest a little stuffed toy and it was sweet. Very helpful and accessible staff, too. Many parents in a situation like this of course worry, have tons of questions and concerns as time goes on and not once did I have trouble a) getting a straight answer and b) finding someone to talk to relatively quickly. We've moved out of state but I'd recommend it to anyone in Austin.
