Hardware Hawaii truly is a neighborhood hardware store. Located in the middle of Kailua, the store offers lumber; hand and power tools; and other building supplies.
Naturally, it doesn't have the inventory that Home Depot or Lowes has, and pricing is merely average, but who really wants to drive that far just to get a few nails or to get a toilet-repair kit?
The staff is exceptional -- always willing to help. The store is large enough that assistance is useful to eliminate unnecessary wandering just to locate something.
