For the first time, we decided to take our 21 month old daughter to a social holiday event on Saturday AM. The entire event was planned out to be 2 hours long with many mini planned out children’s activities, including making Slime, gluing decorations to paper, face painting, and a few other messy activities. While all the parents were chaotically managing their children, my daughter grabbed a crayon, and walked towards a massive mirror cladded wall on the back side of the table, and scribbled a few lines. After seeing this I approached one of the girls working there and asked if they had something for me to use to wipe the mirror. She responded “It’s ok, we’ll take care of it – it’s all part of the hazards of this job.” I looked around and saw other scuff marks on the walls, and figured, she is right, this is a children’s place, and considering the activities planned out for this event, a little mess should be expected. Not long after this, the owner of the store YANKED my wife’s arm, pulled her aside, and with a screechy witch like voice whispered “Sweetie, next time STOP your child from doing this, or you are going to pay for this…” Both of us were shocked to hear this from an owner of a children’s store… The icing on the cake was that she managed to call our daughter a “Graffiti tagger” At that point the two of us grabbed our daughter, and asked for refund… of course our request was denied, which was expected from that type of a store owner… regardless it was only a $15 cover charge, but since it was a matter of principal, we filed a complained to our credit card company, and decided to write up a review based on our experience. Bottom line… the owner of this store should not be running a children’s store. I suggest for her to run for prison warden.
