Businiess name:  The Spot Gourmet Catering

Review content:
We found this place (now called the Spot) in an earlier City Search review and decided to try it for Saturday night dinner with jazz as the background. When we got there we weren't sure we had the right place, because of the name change, but once inside we settled in nicely. The food is strong New Orleans style and plentiful. The jazz on Friday and Saturday nights provides a nice background. We had shrimp cakes to begin with (excellent), followed by tri-tip and jambalya. There was so much served, that it provided dinner for Sunday night also. It was good enough that we came back for Sunday brunch even though it's a good 7-8 miles from where we live. We had the same beignet experience as the other reviewer and we had the Eggs Benedict. We were originally going to keep this one to ourselves, because it's small (limited seating), but that's unfair to everyone else, particularly the owners, who really want to make this a success. Pros: Very friendly, plenty of good food, jazz Cons: parking, small, so you may want to call for a reservation
