Review content:
Before buying our current home, we had several inspections. We first hired someone our realtor recommended and he was terrible: missed major details in the report and major repairs. It was obvious this guy didn't know what he was talking about. So we bit the bullet and hired someone else.
After asking around, we were referred by our friends to Jeff from Amber Home Inspections. He not only performed our inspection, but saved us thousands on a cracked furnace ($8,000 repair) and dry rott in the rafters under the roof ($3500). (The first inspector didn't mention these).
The report from Amber Home Inspection gave us fuel to get credit back for all the repairs and we've lived in the house for 1 year now and no surprises. He also did a re-inspection for a reduced price, after some repairs were made.
I can't recommend him enough. He travels between Portland and Eastern Oregon. And he changed his number 541-519-2625. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: Very thorough, punctual, professional, detailed
Cons: He changed his phone number.
