I have only been there a couple of times since I live in SW Portland but on each occasion the staff and the owner were so nice and helpful. Each time I had brought a project I was working on that had me stumped (i.e., shams for a super busy/colorful quilt and borders and binding for another quilt). The shams were really something I could not come up with any good ideas for because the colors were unique, the fabrics in the quilt no longer available, etc. On each occasion, several staff members as well as the owner all took it as a challenge to help me find the perfect solution and fabrics. The shams and the other quilt (with the border and binding) turned out better than I had anticipated because of the extra help I got from all the people at Pioneer Quilts.
They have a large selection and if it weren't so far away I'd be sure to sign up for classes since everyone was so friendly.
