Review content:
This hole-in-the-wall on Witherspoon blows away the larger hibachi-style restaurant further up the street. With great "special" rolls and an excellent trademark spicy tuna (chopped raw tuna mixed with spicy mayo), Sakura Express is one-of-a-kind.
The two chefs get to know regulars in a short time and are very friendly offering good-natured ribbing and great dining experience. Seating is very limited, but worth the wait, as the chefs work fast.
Miso soup and salad bar also available, as are tempura and teriyaki dishes. The mainstay is the wide variety of sushi which is invariably excellent. The spider roll featuring softshell crab is the best I've ever had. Meals are served on styrofoam plates, and the atmosphere is decidedly casual, but Sakura can't be beat for absolutely great sushi.
