It's unfortunate that the very best Porterhouse I've found in LA is served by this kitchen. They take the very best piece of meat and ruin it ! All a great piece of meat needs is a little salt, pepper and charbroiling. These guys heap on the spices as if they were trying to dress mutton as lamb. They totally disrepect the meat. It's also sad when people pay about $100 per person and have to sit in the noisest and overcrowded restaurant this side of New York. My whole party complained that the have NEVER been to a louder restaurant. We asked the waiter if the volume of the music (yes they have music OVER the loud crowd) could be lowered. He replied that he gets asked that every night but the management just won't listen so he has stopped. So much for having a nice romantic, memorable evening. I had to shout my whole converstaion...and that was to the person just across the table from me! Otherwise the food here is very good. Dependable, uninspired, fairly bland but decent. The service is excellent however. It's also sad that people accept such conditions by wanting to be seen as "in'! If it's your desire to eat in the atmosphere of a dance club...then this is the place for you... especially the second floor. I woudn't be adverse to going again but I won't rush back.
