I recently purchased a Scorpio alarm system from Metro Motorsports. The sales person gave me a good deal and I felt that I would continue to purchase my products from them, as I have in the past.
After reading the instructions I felt that the installation was simple and it said it would take less than an hour. However, I am not mechanically inclined and felt it would be easier to have Metro Motorsports do it. I was willing to pay a reasonable price. Service indicated it would take 3 hours. I informed them that the instructions indicated it would take less then an hour. Their reply, It would take 2 hours and they wanted to charge 20% above the cost of the actual product to install. I left annoyed.
I made a few calls to motorcycle service shops in the area and found that I was able to have the job completed at 50% below the cost of the product and informed it would take an hour.
I am pleased with the motorcycle I purchased at their business, pleased with the products and prices of their merchandise, But will never use their service department again. I will travel clear across town, if needed, to have my warranty services performed at a more consumer conscious authorized dealership.
Consumer loyalty is earned.
