This is an West African restaurant specializing in Central West African Coast cuisine. My husband and I love dining at ethnic restuarants all the time and "A Taste of Africa" is our newest find. Most restaurants have a few great dishes that people go for and love, but honestly you cannot miss with any of these delicious dishes. In all honesty, every dish I?ve had was great. I loved everything, and I cannot say enough nice things about it. I have taken my family, friends, & co-workers. It is always good every time I go or recommend it. The prices are great and the portions are good as well. You can really do a family style dinner. We started off the meal with the Sule, which are basically plantains pan-fried. We had the Nsoke, is a flavorful dish of black-eyed peas, prefectly stewed. I had the Spicy Spinach & Prawns, very spicy! The prawns were so tender and placed atop a bed of sauteed greens and drizzled in an African spice sauce. My husband had the Traditional Meat Stew. We also, decide to try the Okra Delight, an okra stew. We saw the server pass by with this dish, and thought what was that, it really looks good. Now, usually I would never thinnk to order or even buy "okra", but really, it was delicious. Not soggy or slimy. Everyone should try this dish at least once. Did I mention I have 4 kids. I got lots of "Mommy, I like this". It's cute too, instead of a booster seat, an African drum is used. I see families, dates, big groups of friends, all ages, and ethnicities. The prices are just right! The service is great and the cook is funny! This is an small quaint little place, beautifully decorated with African Art, and music coming from the "mother land". Michele - A Mom who still likes to date - her husband! Pros: Food, service, people, and of course the prices. Cons: Just a tad bit too small - they have promise though!
