We had a slow draining and then completely blocked bathtub (long hair is lovely but not so down the drain!) . We tried the usual home based approaches including air blast, hand held rooter and chemicals with no effect. We called Mountlake Roto-Rooter because of the good reviews on yahoo (we had called two firms from the Puget sound consumer checklist with high ratings but they were not local and had very big travel charges). Roto-Rooter were polite and turned up within two hours as they stated. The service man (Paul) was the essence of pleasant politeness and efficiency. They gave a fair quote, got the job done cleanly and quickly. The itemized price was $279. We did have a web site coupon. We also bought some enzyme cleaner from them (use monthly). This extends the guarantee from six to twelve months. Although the whole thing seems expensive this is only the second time we have needed to do this in twenty years and I think it is a reasonable charge for highly reliable service from good local people. So I recommend them totally and I recommend using a better tub trap for hair ! (we have now bought a $3 one from Home Depot) and using a disolver on a monthly basis.
