Review content:
I went to Neibauer when my insurance changed, thinking that I would save a few bucks by going to a preferred provider. WRONG! First of all, they pushed the "Deep Cleaning" on me - which I had never heard of or needed before. I just wanted a routine cleaning, and was about to say "no" when the secretary comes back and assures me that insurance will cover it at 100%. I am skeptical, but believe that she should know, she deals with insurance every day. I get the Deep Cleaning.
Later, I get a bill for $220. What happened to my 0$??? My insurance only covered about half, which was their policy. There was no way for me to know ahead of time because it depends on the submitted cost and the negotiated discounts.
I got a second opinion after the fact, and that dentist, who I have been going to for years, told me there was no need for that procedure in the first place. Oh, and did I tell you I had to call twice just to get a bill that explained all the costs?! Each bill had a "Balance Forward" amount with no explanation. Finally, when I got the explanation, it turns out they were charging me $30 more than the insurance contract allowance.
What a rip off!
