Connexion Realty should be avoided at all costs. They discriminated against my family and would not find a rental because we have a child. I called and asked to setup an appointment at an apartment in Old Howard Beach. The woman on the phone told me "absolutely not" because children are "NOT allowed".
I could not believe what I was hearing... and let her know that her statement was illegal. She seemed to have NO knowledge of Fair Housing Act and familial status discrimination - but I clued her in...
Whether or not Connexion Realty made that "rule" and prohibiting children is simply the landlords policy - I would never do business with a realty that actually takes business from a bitter landlord who is breaking the law. The morals and ethical conduct at Connexion Realty is a disgrace and I hope they are able to sleep at night knowing they conduct their business like this.
Avoid at all costs. Whether or not you have children of your own - imagine how it feels to be a parent being told you are denied a home because of your child.
