Businiess name:  Longs Drugs
Review by:  Ryan M.
Review content:
Longs Drugs is perhaps the most well known drug store in Hawaii. The store on Bishop Street is a bit unique in the sense that its customers are primarily from two distinct groups: downtown office folks and senior citizens. For the former, the Bishop Street store is great for picking up the one or two small things on sale that you forgot to buy on the weekend, or for grabbing miscellaneous items, such as greeting cards, that you wouldn’t want to stop for on the way home. For the latter, several bus routes stop virtually right in front of the entrance to the store. For old folks who can’t drive, this is about as close to door-to-door service as they can get. Seeing the two sets of folks in the store is almost worth the visit itself. Where else can you see impatient business people being bumped around by the elderly? Longs runs its familiar yellow ads twice during the week with two different selections of discounted items, so there’s almost always something useful on sale. If you visit just once a week, make sure to go on Wednesday, as that’s the day the two ads overlap.
