If you are looking for high quality, name-brand stuff that is one clear step above LensCrafters in Birmingham, Alabama, you are likely to wind up at Schaffer Eye Centers. There is more than one store, probably about 5 or so. You can get your eyes examined at the store. The staff are generally experienced with frames and they have the high-end stuff including Lunor, Robert Marc, Beausoleil and others. I got special polycarbonate with a coating for the transparent nonglare look. At about 8 months, the coating is starting to congeal and look funny, so I will be curious to ask whether they will replace them or not. The purchase experience was straightforward and their staff was incredibly patient with me. Overall this is a good place where you will pay extra.
