Took my chinchilla here on an emergency visit. We had accidentally pinched my chin's feet with a metal pull-out pan during cleaning.
The vet we saw was very chinchilla-knowledgeable. Luckily, the wounds were just mainly superficial and were not broken legs (which require amputation usually). She was put on an antibiotic dip for her feet, a weak oral antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and a probiotic.
For those in the Baltimore area with chinchillas, you should bookmark Falls Road Animal Hospital in case of emergencies! There's not many vets that understand proper care for chinchillas.
