Review content:
I'd like to give this place a better review, because Tony, the plater is a hard-working tradesman who knows his job & does it well. Trouble is getting pieces back in a timely fashion isn't happening. The woman who runs the front desk, Marie, is very disorganized & sometimes can't find things when I go to pick up. I've waited 16 months now for some small items & never would have used this place if I'd dreamed it would take so long. Last time I was there, asking for my things, Marie went mental on me, screamed, & tried to give back unfinished items - thing is, I pre-paid, by check or cash, half of the estimated cost of each repair when I left it for them to do. That's what they require. No credit cards. I've waited now 16 months for replating a small item (which actually was done once then was dropped & damaged by Marie & was to be "fixed"), removing lacquer from a cup, & removing a dent from another. When I first went there in May '09, business was very slow & they were eager for my little jobs, and friendly. Asked me to bring more stuff. They've let me know they have bigger jobs now, but I did pre-pay 50% of the cost & I still don't have my items.
