Review content:
Patios Del Lago, one of Lakehills' newest restaurants, features an extensive menu of Mexican foods, many selections prepared with a distinct "interior of Mexico" flair and flavor. With a full service bar and numerous beautiful outdoor patios - complete with gardens and waterfalls - this restaurant has become a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends or family. Patios owners and staff celebrated the restaurant's grand opening on this past Labor Day. The restaurant can seat 45 to 50 inside and up to 150 outside.Phillip Rountree and his mother Cynthia Klauss, co-owners of Patios, come from a restaurant background. Klauss and her two sisters own one of San Antonio's well-known Mexican eateries, Jacala's, which has been in business since 1949. Lynda Morse, Patios manager, has been with the family for years and Chef Nick Silva graduated from Bandera High School. When they first considered opening a place in Lakehills, Rountree said, "We just brought out a small commercial kitchen trailer and put it on the site. Locals started stopping in and asking what was going on." He was surprised at the numerous requests that he open a full service, fine dining restaurant. "The community was amazing," he said. "They even donated items in order to get us started. They helped us open!" Rountree and Klauss have already begun to give back to the community by sponsoring a family through the Hope Foundation and becoming "A Spirit of Christmas" donation station. The Patios Del Lago menu includes the traditional Tex-Mex dishes like enchiladas, fajitas, carne guisada and chile rellenos, along with crispy and puffy tacos - a Jacala favorite. Patios goes a step further, however, by offering a variety of interior Mexican specialty dishes like such as Tilapia Vera Cruz, a seafood stuffed Chile Relleno and Pescado a la Plancha, which is the fresh fish of the day, served with shrimp and scallops. They also offer three signature butter and cream sauces, poblano, chipotle and cilantro, which can be ordered on many of their dishes, allow
