Review content:
My wife and I dined there recently and it was not a very rewarding experience. We are not inexperienced diners so I cannot brush this off as unfamiliarity with good restaurants.
First, I would like to compliment the wine steward on choosing a nice, reasonably priced bottle of champagne (although $50 is high priced for our budget). Things went downhill from there.
The wait for our appetizer was way too long. In fact, the wait for everything was too long. We got there at 6:30 and it was nearly 10:00PM before we finished dessert.
My wife had the quail for appetizer and enjoyed it. I had the Pate for appetizer and is was horrible. I had one bite and tried a second bite and spit it out. It was the texture of raw chicken. I love pate and have had it at many other restaurants and made it myself, this was not even close to the pate I have enjoyed at other restaurants.
I'm sure the wait staff must have noticed what was left on my plate, yet they did not say a word. AS it turns out, I guess I should have said something at the time, but, I thought maybe it was just me.
I had the Ceaser Salad for the second course. It was OK; however, how do you mess up Romaine lettuce..
It seemed like it was over an hour before we were served our main course. During this wait I had to take a bio break. When I came back, my pheasant was on the table ... cold. I think it was supposed to be warm? I don't know if it sat on the table long enough to get cold, but I doubt it. My guess is it sat in the kitchen cooling off until someone noticed that we hadn't been served. It was not edible. My wife had the Wagyu beef which was virtually tasteless and chewy. Neither of us ate much of the meal.
When the waitress came by our table, she had the nerve to ask "Are you stuffed?"
Come on! WE had a dab of appetizer, a few lettuce leaves and barely touched our entree and she thought we were stuffed!!! I had to inform her of the shortcomings of the meal.
Of course, the chef did come out, apologized and comped the entrees. Desserts were good.
