iLounge OC

Having grown up in Newport my entire life and now having lived in New York for almost 2 years....it's always nice to come home and see family and friends.....but it is very rare to actually find a spot in OC that has a review worthy nightlife. As most know, not many places compare to what New York has to offer-- restaurants and lounges/clubs.....well, with iLounge, I think OC may have nailed the mark precisely!! In a space aesthetically pleasing as any 5 Star dining venue in NY, iLounge's decor is beautiful. Sleek and sophisticated, while all the while, the entire restaurant and club has this chic feel-- from the Red Room to the outside patio, iLounge exudes a perfect sense of balance. The food is outstanding....celebrating my birthday dinner here, my personal favorite was the sea bass. After finishing a perfect meal accompanied by a very impressive wine list, we took my birthday into the lounge. From the cocktails to the bottle service to the dj spinning....I couldn't really complain about anything. Well, maybe the fact that you can't smoke inside and that the club closed at 2am....but hey, only New York allows you to smoke inside and dance till 4am!!! All in all, as a New Yorker, I definitely definitely would recommend iLounge for THE BEST place in OC! more

I went over to ilounge over the weekend, and sadly enough i wasn't able to get in on friday...it was absolute chaos outside and the lines were filled with people trying to get into the doors. i was with a friend and we weren't on a list, so we decided to come back on saturday night with a couple of girls...the guy at the door was really busy, so another guy who didn't look like he worked there came up to us and started chatting with us. we told him that we had been there the night before and that we couldn't get in...he quickly asked one of the bouncers to id all of us and told us that he would be taking care of us. he then returned with the vip host and we were walked in to the club. once inside, we were surprised at how hot the crowd was. the ratio was about 50/50, and the servers and bartenders were all hot as well. the bar was packed and we had to wait about 10 minutes to get the first round, but there was enough eye candy to keep us occupied while we waited. the music was a mix of top 40 and electro and the dance floor was full of people shaking it. all in all we had a great time, but i would recommend going with girls or getting bottle service if you want to make sure you get in since they are always busy on the weekends. having lived in oc all my life, i would say that this is definitely the hippest spot i've been to, and it will keep us from having to go to l.a. to experience a hip joint. I went to i Lounge this past Saturday and had a really fun, exciting night. My group and I went for dinner around 9pm (6 people), and were seated within minutes of arriving. Our server was very friendly, and you could tell he took pride in his job. He made several suggestions for what to order, and to our delight, they were all good! Each person ordered a different entree, so I was lucky enough to sample an assortment of delicious fish dishes, and the lamb and filet. I was really impressed that all of them tasted so good, I eat out a lot, so I am very picky. Anyway, I thought I didn't have room for desert by I managed to have the Lava cake and fell in love! So yummy, a must! more

I went to Ilounge OC and i liked it. I went on a friday and I saw many pretty ladies. No cover Charge. The drinks are pretty pricey, but not more than everywhere else. the one review where that girls describes a night of hell was wrong,, we try to make everyone feel as if they are royalty.....i am a bouncer there and i try to treat everyone very nicely,,, this chick was drunk off her butt and out of control we asked her leave nicely and she threw a drink at us,,,she then started cussing and say the stupidest stuff,,,,but we don't care we have an understanding of drunks....her dad was nice after all he did tip her an extra hundred.....but as for his spoiled daughter, she was a complete waste of time........OC i lounge is one of the most upscale clubs catering to them all,,,we always conduct ourselves in a professional manner....the waitress put up with everything and we as bouncers deal with all the stupid drama,,,,and yet we still say please and thank you....the owners are always hands on making sure that their establishment is running smoothly as usual....i would have to say that i have worked a lot of venues and this one has its stuff together....so please disregard one persons bad drunk night because we have a great time and treat everybody with respect...... Amazing redo of a mediocre restaurant into a great ultra lounge and night club that totally beats Tens. As the other review said, the service was actually nice, I didn't feel like the bouncers wanted to eat me, the bartenders smiled and said thank you, and the security inside was efficient. Very much enjoyed the elaborate/lush/swank decor. Drinks are $10 and up, didn't get any food, didn't roll VIP, just chilled. Patio is big and nice but surreal cuz guess what? You're in a swank upscale night club in the middle of the parking lot in the Irvine Business Complex, which epitomizes the OC night life. Ok, when I read the review above this morning I was shocked. This place is fabulous and the manager Josh is simply great. Dude took care of my girl and myself yesterday. Even hooked us up with samples of different types of alcohol. The bartender Kelly also gets a A+ as well as the waitress K. Staff was awesome. This is very surprising since mot of the other venues in OC like Ten and Fury are notorious for their attitude. Not here. All were super kind. As for the venue it beats Ten and fury away. Sutra still better as far as looks go. They have done and incredible job. Not much to look at from the outside (kinda looks like a el torito) but it first class once you walk in the door. Lastly, the food is actually good. Most places like this have really nice descriptions on their menu's but the food never meets my expectation. The kobe burger here literally melts in your mouth. Its that good. Overall, I will definitely return to this spot. Wish all of them the best of luck. Its good to see cool venues like this in OC, don't have to drive to LA to party as much. I went to the ilounge on opening night and I must say that I was very impressed. The decor makes it feel like your in LA. It's very trendy with different rooms and great decorations. The music was outstanding ... everyone was dancing and having a great time. I especially liked the live band. We had bottle service which was okay. I guess my one complaint would be that the server was never around to pour our drinks. However, I would totally recommend this place. Awesome atmoshere and great crowd! It's the best club OC has to offer right now. Pros: Great decor, music, and crowd. Cons: Bad bottle service more
