I have lived in this complex for 27 months. When it was owned by UDR, my roommate and I had no problems, what so ever. Since ownership changed to Avalon about 8 months ago, however, we have had nothing but. No one is ever in the office to answer the phones, they either don't check the answering machine or decide not to respond to phone calls, when you go in, the people there at the front desk know NOTHING about anything. The only information they have is specifically regarding leasing. If you have a question even a little outside that tiny box, they have to ask someone else (who is never around) and get back to you (which they never do). I am currently moving out of this place (thank the lord Jesus!) and am having a terrible time getting them to answer questions about moving out procedures, walk through appointments, etc.
Now, besides the complete lack of knowledge of the staff here, the parking is the only other nightmare here.
The complex is generally pretty clean (and the maintenance guys are pretty nice, too.) I haven't experienced overflowing garbage like other reviewers and it's pretty quiet. I have a 3rd floor apartment facing the inside of the complex and the pool (it's a little loud in the summer because of that but...)but still really have no complaints about the noise.
Parking is a nightmare! If you only have one car, it's fine (you get one assigned spot) but if you have more than one car or want to have guests over, good luck! The street behind the complex (Oswego, where LOTS of people park) is shut down on Tuesdays from SEVEN IN THE MORNING to FIVE AT NIGHT! (It's ridiculous and they will ticket you, no problem!) for street sweeping and is packed by 9 pm every day and the lot at the shopping center across the street is supposedly ""no overnight parking"" but I have a feeling lots of people do anyway.
There is very poor lighting throughout the complex so it's pretty dark at night except in the front and middle parking lots (the lighting's pretty decent there).
So, if you are not adverse to being ignored when you have a question, you may be okay living here but if you expect the people taking your money to know what they're talking about, don't waste your hard-earned cash here!!!
