Zonolite Hair Studio

Based on reviews at various sites I chose Sejal at Zonolite Hair Studio in Atlanta near Emory & CDC for my first-ever Brazilian wax. I was so pleased with the result, the process, and how she prepared me for what would be going on and what to expect afterward. She immediately realized that I would probably have very sensitive skin and disclosed that some people are alergic to certain waxing products (who's not alergic to something?). Due to my skin sensitivity, she said she would get all the hair she could on the first try, but that if there was hair left, rather than repeat and risk hurting me, she would follow up next week to remove it. This is her standard procedure, but she explained she might stop a little sooner with me. There are 2 small areas she'll go over next week at no additional charge, but she got nearly everything. As I'd read, Sejal was fast, but she reminded me a couple of times to tell her if I needed a break. I didnt need one beyond the time it takes her to apply the next bit of wax. She was very good. She told me she chats to keep people's minds off pain, and worse, the anticipation of it. For me, if I'm going through something painful, it's better if I focus on breathing and relaxing instead of talking, and Sejal was respectful of my request. Regarding pain, it was no worse than I expected. I felt fine when I left and still do. No alergic reaction to the wax, but I appreciated the warning. I'll be going back as a devoted follower. more

That word describes my first, but definitely not my last visit to this salon!\r \r After having many, many, many adventures in hair coloing and styles, both great and those where you wear a hat--I have found a stylist/colorist who listens and works wonderfully wicked magic!\r \r It is worth the hour of driving from the burbs to have Tara transform my brass color to a nice blend of high/lowlights with a base looks natural--and I am pretty much a total silverhead here.......\r \r Tara--YOU ROCK!!!!\r \r \r The salon itself--My percection is that of loft meet chic meets comfortable/soothing colors, fun furnishings and whimsical accessories, combined with the exceptionallly talented staff make the ""me"" time you spent within in the walls well worth the experience!!! more

I was working next door at a clothing store I owned and I was having trouble with my color. I chose to add a lighter color but it started breaking my hair around my edges. Tara brought it back to life and even gave me a new cut!!! I will probably never go back to long hair again because of her! Because of her I am rockin a sassy bob with layers and I'm chocolate!!! I definitely plan on visiting the salon and letting her glam me up!!!! A five hour road trip is nothing compared to a lifetime of happinaess and satisfaction! more

Without color I would be solid gray! Tara colors my hair in such a way that it looks so natural - no one knows its color. Now that is worth the trip & money anyday!!!!! more

I started getting my hair cut here when I lived in Atlanta in 2006. I have since moved to South Florida, and still ONLY get my hair cut here when I visit Atlanta twice a year! Toni is the best hair stylist I have ever come across. Her technique is fantastic and she truly cares about the outcome! I have never left a hair cut unhappy. The whole salon is extremely welcoming and makes you feel right at home :) Most recently, I was married in Atlanta in April. Naturally I wanted Toni to do my wedding hair. Toni and the rest of the Zonolite staff came in at 6am on a Sunday morning to accommodate doing my hair and the rest of the bridal party and moms. The experience was simply amazing and started off the day beautifully. We all had a great time. I cannot thank them enough: Toni, Steve, Becca, and Traci! You guys made our day! more

She has an enormous amount of skin care and product knowledge for every price point. Her waxing prices are lower than any other full service salon in the city. Absolutely the best stylist - Tonia - knows how to extract what you want from everything you tell her and you come out looking mahvelous! Friendly, fun great people - Every time I go I am happy with the results. Exceptional, skilled, and talented. I actually enjoy going there! more

Ive been going to Zonolite since they were Salon Me and they have always been nothing short of perfect. Steve is extremely accommodating in getting you set up with an appointment that suits your schedule (in my case, usually day of). Becca has worked with me through going from brown to light, light blond and highlights and cut it all off and giving me feedback when I'm unsure of what I want to do next. She even did my hair in an updo for my wedding! I never worry about how I'm going to look. I just went to her to cut off all my hair and I have never looked back. That is a first for me. Becca just made it look so cute and fun and sexy and sophisticated. Needless to say, she makes cuts very versatile. Sejal was my first and she will be my last for all my waxing needs! I've read reviews on other places and that's all I know outside of Sejal. She is FAST. I go to her for a full Brazilian and I'm not the type of person who likes a long drawn out wax. (Who does?!) And she talks to you the whole time to keep your mind off the job at hand. She is always personable and, as shy as I am, that's a task! She gives great after procedure care tips and they also sell products to minimize ingrowns and bumpies. Sejal definitely makes you want to come back, which can't be easy since she's ripping out your hair! Go to Zonolite if you want to come out looking and feeling great. This is a great team and they're all there for you! more

Ive been going to Sejal since I moved to ATL in 08. I found her from the rave reviews on Citysearch. The hype is all true. She is absolutely amazing. She is professional and personable. You will never feel rushed at Zonolite. Sejal will take the time to find out your needs and meet them. Also the complimentary touch up the following week is wonderful. I send all of my friends to her and they love her as well. I love Sejal. She is not only my waxer, shes a friend. Visit her and I am sure she will be yours too. more

Monika Sullivan was highly recommended to me by several friends and co-workers over 15 years ago and I have been coming back to her ever since.\r I drive from Newnan to Atlanta, because I have never found anyone that can make my hair look like she does. Walking in, Zonolite looks and feels like a hip, trendy salon but once seated (in T's chair -- AKA: Toni), there's no mistaking the homey, relaxed and comfy feeling she and the staff bring to my visit. T's creative concepts have kept me coming back for the past 12 years and I think I've followed her almost EVERYWHERE! I always feel incredibly sassy and sexy leaving Zonolite and that's exemplified by the compliments I receive after seeing T. Everyone on staff is friendly, fun and extremely knowledgeable. After my visit at the hair studio, I always feel like a new woman, and sometimes I look like one, too (after a new hair color or cut). I'm not sure who gets more out of this experience - me or my husband? He always says that I look Super Hot and Sexy! and loves Monika for her artistry. I think that says it all. more

Monika (owner of the salon) was referred to me by my hairdresser in LA before I moved here. Boy was I thankful for that referral. I've now been going to Zonolite for almost 10 years. She is amazing with hair color and gives the best cut ever. I get compliments on my hair constantly and it's healthier than it's ever been. Would highly recommend her and the salon! more

My Brazilian wax girl moved back to Brazil after going to her for 12 months. I searched and searched and searched and came across some really good reviews on Sejal @ Zonolite Hair Studio. I went last week for the first time and......all I can say is....OMG! I have found my new wax girl. She was very nice..conversational..and gental. Not to mention she doesn't dip the same stick back into the wax (she throws the stick away) AND she uses a sensitive skin wax. Oh..and I didn't leave with any wax stuck to my skin. I'M SOLD!!!!! more

I have been going to Sejal for Brazilian waxes for almost 3 years now, and would never consider going elsewhere. She's amazing! She's quick yet gentle, kind, funny and calming all at the same time. She will talk you through the entire process and divert your attention from an awkward situation. Sejal has this uncanny ability (and unrivaled in my experience) to distract you so that before you know it, you're finished! Not to say it's completely painless, but her technique minimizes the temporary discomfort of it all and you leave feeling fresh and rejuvenated! I never imagined how at ease I would become with the entire experience and I look forward to every visit. Word of advice to waxing virgins: If Sejal suggests a schedule, take her advice. Staying on a schedule regulates growth patterns and regrowth will diminish over time.... Not to mention it will hurt less. Don't forget to say hello to Steve at the front desk! more

I've been going to Sejal for atleast 3 years now and I can't tell you how amazing she is. First off, the whole process of a brazilian is awkward and painful to say the least. But with Sejal, you walk in, have a 10 minute chat and it's over. Don't get me wrong, it'll still hurt but she is just wonderful at taking your mind off the ordeal and she's so quick and efficient that you'll walk out feeling as though nothing happened. I've been to a few others over the years and no one can do what she does. She is thoughtful where others can be relentless and she's got a gentle touch, thank god! She is wonderful as is the rest of the staff at this awesome place. To top it off, their prices are extremely affordable. If you haven't given them a try yet, you definitely should because you wont regret it! more

Sajal is the most professional, friendly, accommodating aesthetician in Atlanta. She has become my regular brazilian waxer, and I can't imagine going to anyone else. She makes a relatively painful and awkward procedure as pleasant as possible, which says a lot! Another plus is that she works until 8 pm, so I can go after work. I am so happy to have found Sajal and definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for quality waxing. more

In the year that I've been getting my underside waxed I have NEVER returned to the same place twice due to dissatisfaction. But I can gladly say I've made the buy 4 get 1 free commitment to Sejal. My problem was that I didn't want my whole bush ripped out, that I have an opinion of what I wanted down there to look like. But with all the ladies I saw before, no matter how elaborate I was in my description, did whatever they wanted. Well as soon as I walked into the salon I could tell that these people cared what the customer wanted and would LISTEN. Sejal and I went over what I wanted and as she went through the forest she would ask and make sure she was on track, all the while chatting it up with a personality. W. O. N. D. E. R. F. U. L. I really wish I had a second vag for her to wax. And prices are outrageously reasonable(even before the buy 4 get 1 free), which allowed me to give a generous tip and still be under the cost of those other places that I will never step foot in again. Sejal was conversational and so professional. I was a little worried because the outside of the building didn't look great (or as fancy as other salon's) but it doesn't matter ... I will be going back to see Sejal. I highly recommend her. It was my first time to see her and to visit this salon, but you wouldn't need to look any further. She was so fast it was incredible. Because really, why would anyone want to drag that out?? She also offered great packages where the 5th wax was free as well as follow up just in case she happened to miss anything. Professional, quick and conversational (so you don't concentrate on what's really happening!). Located near the Emory Animal Clinic in Virginia Highland/Morningside-Lenox Park area. GREAT EXPERIENCE! Thanks to Toni at Zonolite, I love my hair. I used to hate it because its naturally curly and some what unruly. Toni's style of dry cutting gave me a cut that worked for me and my hair type giving it the right amount of weight and movement. Plus, Toni is amazing with color; always listening to exactly what I want and giving creative and fun advice on how to take my style to the next level. Not only is the whole salon professional and polished, it's also warm and personable. Everyone is super nice and extremely welcoming. I absolutely recommend this salon to everyone, men and women alike. They are a well priced, professional, cutting edge salon with people who truly care. Pros: Finally a haircut that lasts!
