Zips is Great 1/15/2004

Zips is great. The burgers, especially the gurth burger, are extremely juicy and have a unique taste. The reason why it is so crowded is because almost everyone in the city knows it is ""the"" place to get a burger. I have never found a better place to get a burger. Way Overrated 11/4/2003

After hearing so many great things for so long about the place, a friend and I headed down for lunch. Waited forever and were finally served our burgers. We took a look at our food and were rather unimpressed with its puny size. We each chomped down and we just sort of looked at each other. My friend said ""I just don't get it."" This is as great a hamburger joint anywhere. Maybe it's the location in Mt. Lookout, maybe it's the rustic feel of the inside, or maybe it is the best sandwich concept since man to meat to bread. How can you go wrong with a metwurst topping on a burger? How indeed? Would never go to Cincy without a pilgrimage to Zip's. See you this weekend, Zip's and I'll bring the tomatoes! Small burgers! 1/10/2003

The burgers are small and don't come with fries. The waitress didn't even ask me how I wanted mine cooked. And there's not much else to get there- they are famous for their burgers, but I can't figure out why! Pros: Quaint Cons: Small portions, Overrated, Small seating area more

Zip's is not Zippy 12/29/2002

Everytime I have been to Zip's it has been extremely crowded. The restaurant is very small and there seems to be no rhyme or reason getting seated. It's more of a ""stand around while people stare at you and wait to grab a table when the get up"" type of thing. We waited forever for our food and the service was lacking. When the food came, I thought ""What was all the hype about?"". The burgers are good, however, you could make them in your kitchen and they would taste the same. I would suggest this restaurant for the food if it were not for the service and the uncomfortable wait for a table. more

Zips has the best hamburgers I have ever tasted! They are wonderful! The Cons: I wish this restaurant was bigger. It is very small and it is first come first serve. So you must stand around and wait for a table to become available. But you will be happy you did once you find a table and bite into a tasty burger! Although Zip's Cafe does fix one incredible burger, I would NOT rate it anywhere near the best burger in Cincinnati. Zip's Cafe has decent food for a decent price. Personally, I would rather pay a little bit more for a consistently delicious burger every time!! Pros: fair price, good value, good food Cons: Crowded, Not child friendly, sometimes rude more

No Taste, No Service 10/31/2002

Based on the recommendation of this internet site my wife and I drove to Zip's to try their hamburgers. We were very disappointed. At first we were intrigued and delighted with the train that rings the dining area. When we finally sat down the waitress was extremely rude. Upon asking for a menu she told us to take it from someone else if we wanted to see what they had. Our hamburgers, when they arrived 15 minutes later, were small and the meat had no flavor. The french fries, although good, were cold. I personnally felt I would have gotten a better value and a better tasting meal at a fast food restaurant. Pros: Train Cons: Food, Service more

Zip's has the best burgers around town, along with chili cheese fries, salads, and veggieburgers, and are reasonably priced enough that even college students can eat there! The place is small, dark, and unique; service is usually great; stop by- you will NOT be dissappointed!! I don't get it. This is supposed to be the best burger in town? Maybe once upon a time. The size of the burger is not impressive, the taste average, and for this it is overpriced. Not the Zip's I remember from 10 years ago! more

Not only does Zips have the best burger in town but one could add a cup of chili to their order and be the happiest person alive. Okay so the parking isn't so good but after eating a burger and some chili, I could use the one block walk to Mt. Lookout Square. more

Mouth watering delicious 9/19/2002

I hope Mt. Lookout realizes how fortunate they are to have Zip's quaint restaurant and bar. The food is superb the service fast and the people are all so friendly. And add to this the fact that it won't break your bank, you just can't go wrong. So if you haven't had the pleasure of an experience at Zip's, I hope you take this recommendation seriously and not waste another moment.
